Eight points clear at the top of the table after securing 10 Serie A wins in a row, Napoli aim to extend their incredible run on Saturday, as they host Udinese at Stadio Maradona.

Having followed last week’s defeat of Atalanta BC with a midweek victory over Empoli, Luciano Spalletti’s side are certain to lead the standings heading into 2023 and now continue their pursuit of a first Scudetto since the 1980s.

We say: Napoli 2-1 Udinese

Napoli are seeking their ninth straight home win in all competitions, and an Udinese side that could not maintain their magnificent start are not best placed to stop them. Such is the hosts’ firepower, they can score goals from all quarters of a talented squad and will ultimately break down well-drilled opponents.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Separated by three places in the Serie A standings, either side of the drop zone’s dotted line, struggling Sampdoria and an improving Lecce side meet on Saturday, in their final fixture of 2022.

The teams meet at Stadio Luigi Ferraris in the final round of Calcio action before the World Cup, with the hosts sitting 19th after another defeat in midweek; trailing their southern visitors by six points.

We say: Sampdoria 1-1 Lecce

With confidence growing in the camp – after coming close to holding Juventus, then taking four points from their next two games – Lecce arrive at Marassi more in expectation than just hope, and that may be rewarded. Neither side has built much rhythm in the final third this term, so the points should be shared in a low-scoring draw.

Having seen their winning run ended by a thrashing in midweek, Bologna aim to end their 2022 schedule in more satisfactory style, as they host Sassuolo on Saturday.

The Emilian clubs clash at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, separated only by goal difference in the Serie A standings, where they both sit comfortably in mid-table.

We say: Bologna 0-1 Sassuolo

After winning on each of their last three visits to Dall’Ara, Sassuolo can do so again; taking advantage of a side knocked for six on Wednesday. The Neroverdi have become a more disciplined defensive unit this term, while recovering some attacking options should see them break through their hosts’ flimsy rearguard.
